Nanny, chester

Families who have used a Chester County Special Needs Nanny prefer our Nannies like Therese who creates a loving environment for children and parents.

“I am a loving, tender-hearted, honest, and trustworthy nanny. My goal is to have a part in nurturing young children and to be of help to a busy family who needs my services. I have been both a home caregiver and worked at an early education center for twelve years. I learned that my true passion is to be able give more personalized attention to the children in my care. I want to be able to fully use my skills to guide them to becoming all they can be, while not losing sight of respecting the value of who they already are. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession as a Chester County Special Needs Nanny over any other it would be to have the chance to teach for the pure fun of it. I want to plan things that the children will enjoy! I feel that children are the future of our world and precious gifts to be treasured, so I also take my profession very seriously as well. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes dishes, vacuuming, and laundry. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am understanding, caring, easy going, loyal and happy. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include: reading to the children, teaching songs and fingerplays, providing art projects, music appreciation, science, math, social studies, life skills, preparing meals, as well as loving and caring for the needs of both the children and any pets in the home. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me, I would hope they would be a family whose home is filled with books, the sound of music and children laughing, a family who loves learning and enjoys life.”

“I have known Therese both professionally and personally for six years and would recommend her strongly for any position which involves working with children. I first met her while working as Therapeutic Staff Support in a home where she was a Chester County Special Needs Nanny for two young boys on the autism spectrum. While working with Therese in this environment, she demonstrated a consistent interest in the Applied Behavior Analysis programming which my coworkers and I were implementing with the children. She followed through with all recommendations while we were observing her in the home, and also reported back on instances in which she put strategies into place when we were not present. Throughout the years I worked with Therese and the boys, she showed a constant interest in learning as much as possible about Autism Spectrum Disorders, not only to help the boys she was working with, but also to help parents and others she met along the way while taking the children to their various therapies and classes which they were constantly attending. In addition to the skills Therese demonstrated in learning and implementing strategies, she was consistently organized and punctual. She was able to remember and follow the schedule for the three children she was nanny for, never missing an appointment or running late for one of our sessions. When changes did need to take place, she was efficient in giving early notice to every party involved. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Therese was constantly caring and concerned for the wellbeing of the children she was a nanny to. Even during trying times, Therese was able to remain patient with the boys and their older sister. She followed behavior protocols and worked through even very rough tantrums with patience. Today, the boys Therese worked with have made tremendous progress, and are nearly typical. I can say with certainty that much of their success can be owed to having a caretaker who consistently followed through with treatment plans and recommendations, while showing a great deal of caring and patience. Therese is truly a valuable asset to the life of any child fortunate enough to get to work with her.”

“While working as a behavior specialist, I had the opportunity to work with Therese. From the beginning, I was able to see that Therese was passionate about working with children. Therese’s dedication to the family and to the wellbeing of the children was inspiring to those around her. She immersed herself in learning about autism in order to provide the best possible care to the children. Therese utilized behavioral strategies and techniques that I modeled for her at weekly sessions. She also consulted with me when new behaviors arose to guarantee that she responded in appropriate ways. Therese collaborated with the children’s therapists, teachers, and specialists in order to ensure consistency across settings. Her knowledge pertaining to the services that the children received was evident by her contributions to meetings and discussions. In my professional opinion, Therese went above and beyond the expectations of her job. She provided consistency with routines and with interventions both in the home and in the community. As a result of her efforts, the children made tremendous progress in all developmental areas. I believe Therese would be an excellent addition to any family as a Chester County Special Needs Nanny. Through collaboration with various therapists, she has gained a great deal of knowledge pertaining to autism, interventions, and behavioral strategies. Therese’s experiences and knowledge would be highly beneficial to any family!”
