"My goal has always been to work with children! I went to college for education, and my mother and I had an in-home daycare for two years. I love to feel challenged, and working with children keeps you on your feet, energized, and constantly looking for new things to do and teach! I feel it is so important to have a healthy, positive youth, and I am very passionate about providing that to children! I was raised in my aunt's house where she cared for several other children. I feel that the care we received in our home has shaped who I am today. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because it is a noble position where I am given the opportunity to give children a warm, memorable childhood. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over 10 years and can honestly say I love and am passionate about what I do! I feel the children are the most important people in the world! My goal as a Nanny is to provide a caring and nurturing environment; create lasting, positive behaviors and routines; and provide educational support to any age level. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes dusting, vacuuming, dishes, and meal preparation. I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am passionate, easy-going, flexible, responsible, and clever. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include reading, crafts/science related projects, trips to educational resources (ex. museum, national parks, shows, etc.), and creating a daily routine that the children would feel comfortable with and can resume in my absence. My educational and professional background include undergraduate and graduate studies which have focused on child development and clinical social work respectively. I have worked in numerous settings since the age of 15 in which I have cared for, or provided a professional service with children of all ages and at many times, with their families. "I grew up in a traditional family and I have one younger brother. As soon as he was born, I wanted to take care of him and become a "mommy's helper". I have always enjoyed being around children and I've always had a nurturing trait in me. When I was growing up I would always baby-sit the neighbor's children and was the most popular babysitter in my neighborhood. I also taught swimming lessons at all levels at a local swim club in the summers. I am a responsible, loving, patient person.
