The perfect Putnam County After School Program is here with ABC Nannies like Amy who go above and beyond in taking care of children.

“I am a highly enthusiastic, hard-working individual who finds immense joy in working with children. Growing up in a large, tight-knit family of six, we always valued and cherished the presence of children. My ten years of experience in childcare have been incredibly rewarding, especially my time with the Putnam County After School Program. My journey began as an aide in a preschool classroom, followed by a period as a Nanny for a five and three-year-old. I later became an aide in a second-grade classroom, catering to children with special needs. Being a Nanny resonates with me because I firmly believe that creating a supportive and creatively stimulating environment at home is of paramount importance in a child's development. Additionally, it is loads of fun! Working in various roles related to childcare for over a decade, I can genuinely profess my passion for this field. I firmly believe that children hold the utmost significance within a family unit. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and curiosity make being a Nanny an incredibly fulfilling profession. My objective as a Nanny is to establish a stable and supportive environment that fosters growth and learning to the best of a child's ability. I am more than willing to assist with housekeeping duties such as laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and light cleaning upon request. To describe myself in five adjectives, I would say that I am friendly, fun-loving, warm, creative, and supportive. When planning the daily activities for the family I care for, I would love to incorporate outdoor endeavors such as sports and playground visits. Engaging in baking sessions, art and craft projects, and even music lessons (if desired by the family) would also be part of our routine. Drawing from my skills as a trained pianist, flutist, and classical vocalist, I am equipped to provide music lessons as well. Furthermore, embracing diversity and culture, I can organize multi-cultural days, where we explore French cuisine, language, and customs, as I am fluent in both French and Italian. If asked to envision the ideal family seeking a Nanny like myself, I would hope for a close-knit, affectionate household in search of a Nanny to provide both support and an abundance of enjoyment.”

Putnam County After School Program: Amy went ABOVE AND BEYOND the required job duties! She was an incredible asset in my classroom as a teacher for 5 children with autism. Each student needed a 1:1 teaching assistant to ensure their safety and optimal learning experience. This role required flexibility, creativity, and quick thinking. Among Amy's responsibilities were implementing behavior modification plans, adapting tasks to individual students' abilities, providing reinforcement through social praise, songs, stories, and video games, and maintaining a kind and calm approach while addressing challenging behaviors like kicking, hitting, and property damage. Despite her limited prior experience with special needs children, Amy exceeded expectations by being proactive in learning and doing whatever was necessary to support the children's learning and enjoyment of school. My experience with Amy has been incredibly positive, and she has been a valuable addition to the Putnam County After School Program. Despite the challenges, she embraced the opportunity to work with us, whereas other substitutes often avoided it."too difficult"Putnam County After School Program: Amy was a true gem, arriving at the program with an infectious smile and a genuinely eager mindset.
