“I am the baby of six children, raised by my mother. We grew up with a heightened sense of family loyalty. I was surrounded by a loving, close-knit family and couldn’t wait to start my own! I spent the summer after graduating high school volunteering at my sister’s daycare and knew immediately this was the kind of work I enjoy! It was wonderful to watch the babies and toddlers explore, take their first steps and begin to talk! I can honestly say that all these years I have loved my job! I am very affectionate and love to cuddle, read, dance and play! I also have three teenagers, so I am well versed in all ages. I enjoy being a shoulder, a mentor, a safe harbor and a guiding hand. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because mothering has been something I knew I wanted to do since I was a little girl; it’s where I flourish! I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 22 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel children are precious little beings that deserve tons of love and an acute awareness that no two children are alike. My goal as a Nanny is to have a child’s first experiences filled with love and safety as they are imprinted on them forever, and as they get older to raise them the way their parents wish with my strong positive outlook on life. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes meal preparation, laundry, and vacuuming. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am loving, silly, loyal, protective and nurturing. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include free play, the park, finger painting, art projects, baking, singing, computer play, and sports! If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be a gentle, loving, laid back family with strong values!”

“Hello my name is Sarah and I was born in Austin, TX. In July of that same year I was adopted by lawyers Linda and Carl and moved to El Paso. Two years later, in November of 1985 my parents and I went back to Austin to pick up a little brother, John. Then in 1989 my parents completed their family by getting pregnant with my little sister Margaret. For all of my life my father has worked full time practicing law and my mother has worked at least part time practicing law and volunteered the rest of her time in the community and with our schools. I had a great childhood! One of the main reasons why I want to work with children is to share and protect that innocence in their lives. One of the most important things that I learned from my parents, especially my mom, was the ability to travel and adapt to new situations easily. In January of 2003 I began volunteering in the children’s ministry department at St. Clements Church in El Paso. I worked as a volunteer with the church from the beginning of 2003 until September of 2004, when I moved to London. While volunteering with St. Clements I taught small groups of 1st and 2nd grade girls and all the elementary school children on Sunday mornings. I supervised the preschool on Sunday mornings, accompanied children to the zoo, national parks, and the movies. In August of 2003 I began working as an assistant teacher for the 3 and 4 year old class. While working there I learned so much about how children respond to the different ways adults talk to them, the ways they learn, and their enjoyment for life. I enjoyed being able to hang out with these children in their home environments, and being able to see how they react to the everyday things around them as well as new things that children discover everyday. In October 2004 I moved to London to study children’s ministry with a mission organization. While in London, and as part of my study I worked with a church, St. Mary’s Bryanston Square, in their Children’s Ministry department. With St. Mary’s I did a lot of work with inner city children of all backgrounds. While in London I learned even more about how children from different backgrounds and life’s learn and interact with their peers as well as with adults I feel that working with children is the right career path for me! I want to be a nanny because the area of children’s work that I enjoy the most is the one-on-one interaction and teaching life skills and personal growth. I feel like it is so important to protect the innocence of children while helping them and watching them grow into amazing adults. I have been serving in some form of childcare for over five years and can honestly say love what I do! I feel children are an adventure; a tool to help every adult learn more about them selves; and our future! My goal as a Nanny is to provide safety and a watchful eye; I am there to help parents teach their children great life skills and personal growth, while protecting the innocence and fun of being a child. Whatever I do with a child to help them grow must be done along side the parents. I love doing art and exploration projects or events with children. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be welcoming, and helpful!”

“I consider myself a loving, energetic, people-person! I worked at a daycare while in college and it was the best experience of my life! I love working with children and helping them learn that they can trust and befriend adults. I come from a family of 4 brothers and 2 sisters. As the oldest child, I was responsible for helping my parents out the most with cooking, cleaning, and entertaining my siblings. It was growing up around my siblings and close family that has motivated me to want to make a difference in a child's life. It is so rewarding to see the joy in a child's face when you teach them something new and exciting! I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 2 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel the children are impartial and have the aptitude to learn anything they put their minds to. I love how children show love unconditionally. My goal as a Nanny is to help the children learn important life lessons and to leave them with the burning desire to learn from me. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes meal preparation, dishes and laundry. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am intelligent, caring, patient, intuitive, and focused! Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include singing songs to encourage learning, projects and have the children help with chores around the house. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be flexible and patient in the adjustment period for the family and myself to get acquainted. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am patient, kind, giving, caring, and trustworthy! I am very giving and loving, and always try to have other people’s best interest in mind.
