"What impressed me the most about finding a nanny with ABC Nanny Source was the level of detail and organization in which such confidential information was presented. When we started our nanny search, I received an extensive profile for each Harrisburg nanny candidate before the interview. Once each nanny arrived at my door, I was fully relaxed because I felt I already knew the person in front of me ~ that is how detailed these profiles were! The process was made very easy for our family with this nanny agency and within a matter of days, I hired the perfect nanny for our children!"

ABC’s Nanny Agency in Berks County PA is proud to represent Amanda and nannies like her, who use their education and experience every day in their work as a nanny!

“I am a Psychology Major and I am currently finishing my last semester of college. I am also currently an intern working in counseling children (grades k-8) with special needs. I would like any experience possible working with children because for the next three years while I am completing my master’s degree I need a job that is rewarding and will better prepare me for my future career working with children. After I have completed my masters degrees, I plan to get a doctorate in Psychology and hope to start a child psychology practice. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because I love children and it is incredibly rewarding to help them in any way I can, not only in psychology but also in everyday life. I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 10 years and can honestly say I love what I do! I feel the children are innocent and in need of a warm and loving care giver when their parents are unable to be around. My goal as a Nanny is to provide the best possible care in a safe and friendly environment for the children. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am Friendly, loving, energetic, organized, and caring. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include Arts and crafts, baking, any sports that the children are involved in or would like to be, homework help, any safe activity that the children would like to do (I am flexible and easy going as long as I know that safety is not an issue). If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me through a Nanny Agency in Berks County PA I would hope they would be loving. I often see neglectful parents (at my internship- a special needs school), which breaks my heart. I would love to work with children that are excited for me to be there and can’t wait for me to come back but not at the expense of having parents that do not care as much as they should. However, I believe that no family is perfect and I am willing to work with the family in order to make it as close to perfect as possible!”

“Amanda was always on time and I could depend on her to take care of my daughter in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. She was always going above and beyond with housecleaning and general pick up of toys. When I came home everything I had asked Amanda to do was completed and the house was always picked up. My daughter would run to her with a huge smile every time Amanda came to the door. She loved her very much and I always felt very secure going to do errands or going to work knowing my daughter was in the care of Amanda. She will be a great asset to any Nanny Agency in Berks County PA”

“She went above and beyond! She would show up with materials to make cupcakes, crafts, or even with birthday/special achievement gifts. She truly cared for my children and enjoyed being with them! Additionally, all I asked was that she provided childcare for my children and for her to play with them. Once they were in bed she cleaned up the kitchen (including dishes unrelated to kids--even emptying dishwasher!), folded laundry, and neatened up (again, not restrictive to the children). I met Amanda after my son was born and our first babysitter had gone off to college. She was recommended by her boss who was a personal friend of mine. Her boss described her as a teacher who had missed her calling, assuring me I’d love her from day one. I did. Amanda was always upbeat, positive, happy, and extremely polite and considerate. She was punctual, communicative, responsible, and ethical. All of these tremendous qualities paled compared to her innate ability to relate to children, befriend them while remaining the person in charge, and to both enjoy and be enjoyed by them. She truly is special. I am a former elementary teacher (9 years) and preschool camp teacher. I know talent when I see it, and Amanda is one of those few people to whom children are drawn. She is never idle; always playing with them, creating with them, and making them forget that she is a substitute for absent parent. She often made food with the kids, did messy crafts, and took them on nature walks--all of these ideas thought up, paid for, and implemented solely by Amanda herself. Most notable was how much she genuinely enjoyed spending time with my children, and vice-versa. My children cheered when she came over and practically pushed us out the door! To this day, my son is bitter with any other sitter who comes over ~ none can compare to Amanda, who he honestly loves. One thing I really appreciated about Amanda was her ability to handle things. She was in complete control, could make good decisions when I wasn’t there to advise, and wasn’t intimidated by anything (misbehavior, sick children, staying alone for long periods of time). She watched my children overnight and was not only happy to do so, but encouraged us to take more time away. She has this way of relieving a parent of the guilt of being away by being the best surrogate. And while she was adored by my children and fit into my role wonderfully, there was a respect for me as a parent and never any uneasiness about her taking over, my children preferring her over me, etc. She understands her role, how we feel as parents, and is respectful of boundaries. She is truly balanced. She will be a fabulous part of your Nanny Agency in Berks County PA. In closing, it is with highest regard that I recommend Amanda as a childcare provider. She is an amazing person and caregiver, a definite one-of-a-kind, and the family that hires her will be truly blessed. ”

“Amanda did fulfill all job requirements and will be perfect for any family looking for a nanny through a Nanny Agency in Berks County PA. She was always on time and very reliable. She also took good care of the children and found different activities to do with them. They love her! I found Amanda to be a wonderful nanny. Anyone that is lucky enough to have her will love her as much as we do. She was wonderful with the children and took them on as if they were her own. She is very loving, kind, patient, dependable and fun. Amanda would take the children all over on various day trips during the summer. She was also responsible for picking them up after preschool, bringing them home and playing with them. When I had a new baby, I was impressed at how easily she cared for him and knew what to do. Both my husband and myself work full time and found it a relief to leave the children with Jess because we knew they were well cared for while we were at work.”

“I have known Amanda for 10 years and within those 10 years our friendship has grown so much. She is someone who I can count on for anything. She learns very quickly with anything and has a very open mind. She gives everything more than 100% and always wants to do more. If I had children of my own I would trust her with them. She has a heart of gold and is extremely passionate about working with kids of all ages, and will be great with any Nanny Agency in Berks County PA.”

“I worked alongside Amanda for the family she is currently employed with. I loved working with her, because she never shied away from her job duties. She truly took on all of the assigned tasks with gusto, and I found her to be very patient and kind with the children. She truly has their best interests at heart. The parents she works for are not particularly good communicators, but Amanda consistently goes out of her way to deal with whatever issues come up in an open, honest way. She is conscientious of the children’s wants and needs, and she tries her hardest to facilitate them. She also regularly stays late and is very flexible when the family asks her to work extra hours or squeeze in an extra errand. I don’t know what the family would do without a person like Amanda in their lives because she runs their household so well, and she will benefit any Nanny Agency in Berks County PA. Personally, I find her to be a very honest, upstanding person who I trust very much. She is a good friend and I would be happy to work with her again.”
