Frequently Asked Questions

From the initial registration process to the point of hiring, how much time does it typically take?

The process may vary for every household. After evaluating three to five candidates, most families opt to hire a Nanny. Our aim is to offer ongoing support, ensuring that you find the perfect fit for your family as efficiently as possible!

Hours of Operation?

Our placement counselors at ABC Nanny Source are here to assist you Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

What is the availability of nannies?

We always have a wide range of Nannies available for placement throughout the year. However, the demand for our high caliber Nannies is extremely high, which may occasionally limit their availability. We refuse to compromise our rigorous selection process just to have a large pool of Nannies to select from. Our meticulous approach to choosing Nannies sets them apart from others in our database.

What is the process for handling taxes?

We highly recommend using GTM Payroll Services for all your household employee payroll needs. If you are hiring an ABC Nanny, we strongly suggest you take advantage of this resource. GTM Payroll Services specializes in household employee payroll and has built a great relationship with our families and nannies.

Should I provide any additional perks to the nanny? Are there any other advantages or benefits I should consider offering?

While ABC Nanny Source is not responsible for determining the benefits, it is important for families to consider offering a competitive benefit package to attract and retain highly sought-after Nannies. This package should typically include vacation time off - typically 2 weeks for full-time positions (with one week aligning with the family vacation and one week at the nanny's discretion), paid major holidays, and paid sick leave.

Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?

The Nanny and ABC Nanny Source bear the entire responsibility. Your family is not obliged to keep paying the nanny or provide her with employment if you no longer require her services. ABC Nannies are required to sign a one year commitment pledge for acceptance, and the agency provides a one year guarantee to each family in case there are any issues with the hired nanny; however, if you no longer need nanny services for any reason such as relocation, parent unemployment, or a decision for the mom to stay home, you are under no obligation to continue paying her salary. This advantage sets us apart from AuPair Agencies and agencies offering nannies from outside the local area.

Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in ND?

All applicants who wish to be accepted into our database at ABC Nanny Source must possess a valid CPR Certification.

How does the one-year guarantee work?

Simply put, if by some rare chance your nanny is not the perfect fit for your family within the span of one year, we will seamlessly start a fresh search for a new nanny on your behalf and support you in choosing a suitable replacement. It brings us great joy to inform you that this occurrence is incredibly infrequent!

Do you have bi-lingual nannies?

Yes, the placement counselor will take note of your preferences and requirements. Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English is mandatory for all nannies. Additionally, several of our professional nannies are also fluent in other languages like Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If this is something you desire, kindly communicate it to the assigned placement counselor for your family. They will consider this while selecting suitable candidates for your position. You can reach the placement counselor through this link.

Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local ND Nanny Agency?

ABC Nanny Source, being a family owned agency and not an impersonal National agency, places a strong emphasis on ensuring that all candidates seeking employment through our agency are subjected to our strict screening standards, without any exceptions. This unwavering commitment is vital to ensure that our families receive the best possible experience.

What payment methods are accepted?

To ensure your ease, you have the option of paying the hiring fee through Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Begin the process of registration today by clicking on the following link: get registered.

Does ABC Nanny Source offer live in and live out Nannies?

At ABC Nanny Source, our expertise lies in providing both live in and live out childcare services. We prioritize placing live out nannies conveniently within a 30 minute radius of their homes, ensuring that every candidate your family evaluates will be extremely local!

We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?

All of our ABC Nannies are focused on pursuing career opportunities rather than engaging in short-term or casual assignments. It is important to note that our permanent part-time Nannies are specifically seeking positions that require a minimum of 25 hours per week.

What is the cost involved in hiring a ND nanny through ABC Nanny Source?

Full-Time Live-Out and Live-In Nannies are available through our agency, with a guarantee of one year. These nannies are dedicated to providing assistance for a minimum of 40 to 55+ hours per week. The fee for their services is calculated at 14% of the nanny's expected gross salary, with a minimum charge of $3400. Full Time Live Out and Live In Nannies ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE
Part Time Live Out Nannies, who assist with weekly needs that range from 25 to 39 hours per week, can be secured at a cost of 16% of the anticipated gross salary of the Nanny, with a minimum fee of $2800. Additionally, our service offers the peace of mind of a ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE, ensuring the satisfaction and reliability of our placements for an entire year.

How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?

When "harmonizing" nannies with families, several aspects are considered. One essential factor is the distance for live-out candidates. Each live-out nanny is placed within a 30-minute radius of their home, ensuring that the candidates presented to your family are local and familiar with the area. Additionally, it is crucial for the prospective nanny to feel completely comfortable with your family's description and unique needs. We only recommend candidates who have experience and are at ease with the age of your children. For example, if you have a newborn, we will only present you with candidates who have specific experience and a passion for working with babies. Moreover, your counselor will strive to select nannies who match your family's requested salary, as stated on your family application. During the initial consultation, your counselor will ask you about the specific qualities you are seeking in a candidate, such as being bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc. We make a significant effort to consider these criteria when sorting through potential matches for your family. Additionally, if your family has pets, we take into account any allergies that the nanny may have disclosed to us. The "match" process requires a lot of work but it serves a very important purpose and delivers the desired results.

How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?

We understand that allowing someone into your home is a decision that requires caution. That's why we have developed a thorough 10 Step Screening Process that guarantees the highest level of safety and trust. Our process ensures that all references provided are thoroughly verified, criminal background clearances are obtained, negative results from a 5 panel drug test conducted through Quest Diagnostics are confirmed, vehicle registrations are checked, identities are professionally verified, and CPR certifications are validated. We leave no stone unturned to ensure that only reliable and qualified nannies are introduced to your family, going above and beyond to provide you with peace of mind.
