Frequently Asked Questions

From registration to hiring, how long does the typical process usually take?

The process varies for every household, as preferences and needs differ. Typically, most families choose to evaluate between three to five candidates before hiring a Nanny. Our goal is to offer ongoing support and guidance, ensuring that you find the perfect candidate for your family as efficiently as possible!

Hours of Operation?

Our placement counselors at ABC Nanny Source are ready to assist you on weekdays between 9am and 5pm.

How many nannies are currently available?

We can always provide you with an adequate number of Nannies for placement throughout the year. Nevertheless, the demand for our exceptional high caliber Nannies is quite high, which occasionally results in limited availability. We firmly uphold our stringent procedures and will not compromise on the quality of Nannies in our database just to increase our numbers. Our selection process is very thorough, setting our Nannies apart from the competition.

How are taxes managed? What is the process for handling taxes?

We highly recommend GTM Payroll Services as the company of choice. Every family that hires an ABC Nanny should utilize this resource. GTM Payroll Services specializes in household employee payroll and has established an exceptional rapport with our families and nannies.

Are there any additional benefits I should consider providing the nanny? Is there anything else I should offer the nanny in terms of perks or advantages? Are there any supplementary benefits I should take into account when considering what to offer the nanny?

While ABC Nanny Source does not have the authority to determine the benefits, it is essential for families to consider offering a comprehensive benefit package to attract and retain highly sought-after Nannies. This package should ideally include vacation time off, typically consisting of two weeks for full-time Nannies (one week accompanying the family vacation and another week determined by the nanny), paid major holidays, and paid sick time.

Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?

No. It is solely the responsibility of the Nanny and ABC Nanny Source. Your family is not obliged to maintain the salary or employ the nanny if you no longer require her services. ABC Nannies are required to sign a one-year commitment pledge, and the agency provides a one-year guarantee in case there are any issues with the hired nanny. However, your family is not obligated to continue her salary if you no longer need nanny services for any reason, such as relocation, a parent's job loss, or if the mother decides to stay home. This advantage sets us apart from AuPair Agencies and those offering nannies from outside the local area.

Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in NV?

In order to be accepted into our database, ABC Nanny Source mandates that all applicants possess a valid CPR Certification.

How does the one-year guarantee work?

In the rare circumstance that your nanny doesn't work out for any reason within the one year period, rest assured that we will simply commence a new nanny search for your family and provide support in choosing a suitable replacement. We take pride in stating that this occurrence is infrequent!

Do you have bi-lingual nannies?

According to the placement counselor, all nannies must meet the prerequisite of being fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English. Additionally, a significant number of our professional nannies possess fluency in extra languages like Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If this particular preference aligns with your requirements, kindly inform the placement counselor assigned to your family. They will keep this in mind while selecting suitable candidates for the position.

Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local NV Nanny Agency?

As a family-owned agency, ABC Nanny Source stands apart from impersonal national agencies. Our commitment to providing the best possible experience for our families compels us to adhere to strict screening standards for every candidate seeking employment through our agency. We firmly believe that these standards must be met without any exceptions, ensuring the highest level of quality and professionalism for our clients.

What payment methods are accepted?

You have the option to pay the hiring fee through Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover, for your convenience. Today is the perfect day to get registered!

We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?

At ABC Nannies, our focus is on providing career opportunities rather than short term or casual assignments. No, all our nannies are seeking long-term prospects to develop and grow professionally. We specifically require a minimum of 25 hours per week for our permanent part-time nannies.

What is the cost involved in hiring a NV nanny through ABC Nanny Source?

Full Time Live Out and Live In Nannies are available to meet the weekly needs of families for 40 to 55+ hours per week. They are provided at a fee of 14% of the Nanny's expected gross salary, with a minimum charge of $3400. Additionally, our services come with a ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE, ensuring your satisfaction and continued support.
Part Time Live Out Nannies are available to provide assistance with weekly needs that range from 25 to 39 hours per week. These services are offered at a fee of 16% of the anticipated gross salary of the Nannies, with a minimum charge of $2800. Additionally, a ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE is provided(ABC Nanny Source) to ensure the quality of our services.

How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?

When "harmonizing" nannies with families, there are several aspects that we consider. First and foremost, distance is taken into consideration for live-out candidates. We ensure that each live-out nanny is placed within a 30-minute radius of their home. This means that the candidates presented to your family will be very local to you and will be familiar with the area. Secondly, it is important for each prospective nanny to feel completely comfortable with your family description and the unique needs and requests that your family has. We make sure to recommend only candidates who have experience and are very comfortable with the age of your children. For example, if you have a newborn, we will only present you with candidates who have experience with and love working specifically with babies. Your counselor will also pay close attention to selecting nannies with your family's requested salary, as stated on your family application. Additionally, during the initial consultation, your counselor will ask you questions about the "type" of candidate you are seeking, such as their personality traits (bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc.). We make a huge effort to take this into consideration as criteria when sorting through potential matches for your family. Any pets that your family may have are also taken into consideration, especially if the nanny has mentioned any allergies. We make sure to address any potential conflicts in this regard. Our match process involves a lot of work, but it is all for a very good purpose - to provide the desired results and ensure a harmonious fit between nannies and families.

How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?

Introducing our comprehensive 10 Step Screening Process, we understand the importance of entrusting only the most reliable individuals into your home. Rest assured, our meticulous evaluation includes thorough reference verification, criminal background clearances, completion of negative 5 panel drug tests conducted by Quest Diagnostics, collection of vehicle registrations, professional identity verification, and CPR certifications. We leave no stone unturned, going above and beyond to ensure that only the most trustworthy and qualified nannies are introduced to your family.
