Frequently Asked Questions

From the moment you start the registration process on our website, how much time does it normally take until you are hired?

Each household will have a unique experience with this process. After assessing three to five candidates, most families choose to hire a Nanny. Our objective is to offer ongoing support in order to help you find the ideal candidate for your family as efficiently as possible!

Hours of Operation?

Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, our team of placement counselors at ABC Nanny Source is readily available to assist you.

What is the number of available nannies?

We have a continuous supply of Nannies available for placement throughout the year. Nevertheless, the demand for our exceptional high caliber Nannies, which sets us apart, sometimes limits their availability. We steadfastly adhere to our rigorous procedures and never compromise on the quality of Nannies in our database. This ensures that our Nannies are distinct from the rest and chosen with meticulous care.

How are taxes typically managed and administered?

The company we strongly endorse is GTM Payroll Services. We urge every family that hires an ABC Nanny to make use of this invaluable resource. GTM Payroll Services excels in handling payroll for household employees and boasts an exceptional reputation among our families and nannies!

Should I provide any additional benefits to the nanny? Are there any other advantages I should consider offering the nanny?

While ABC Nanny Source does not play a role in determining the benefits, it is essential for families to offer a competitive advantage in hiring and retaining highly sought-after Nannies. It is important for families to consider providing a comprehensive benefit package that includes paid vacation time - typically around 2 weeks for full-time Nannies (one week to align with the family vacation and one week chosen by the nanny), paid major holidays, and paid sick leave.

Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?

No, the Nanny and ABC Nanny Source are solely responsible for the entire obligation. Your family is not obligated to maintain the nanny's salary or employment if her services are no longer needed. ABC Nannies are required to sign a one year commitment pledge for acceptance, and in the unlikely event that things do not work out with the hired nanny, the agency provides each family with a one year guarantee. However, your family is not obliged to continue her salary if you no longer require nanny services for any reason, such as relocation, parent's job loss, or the decision of a parent to stay at home. This sets us apart from AuPair Agencies and agencies providing non-local nannies, which offer no such benefit.

Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in ME?

In order to be accepted into our database at ABC Nanny Source, it is a requirement for all applicants to possess a valid CPR Certification.

How does the one-year guarantee work?

Simply put, on the off chance that your nanny doesn't work out for any reason during the span of one year, we will take the responsibility of initiating a fresh nanny search for your family and helping you in selecting a suitable replacement. We are pleased to declare that this occurrence is a rarity!

Do you have bi-lingual nannies?

Yes, it is necessary for all nannies to have excellent English language skills. Additionally, our professional nannies often possess proficiency in other languages including Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If you have a preference for a nanny who speaks any of these languages, please inform the placement counselor assigned to your family. They will take this into consideration when selecting suitable candidates for your position. You can contact the placement counselor through this link.

Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local ME Nanny Agency?

ABC Nanny Source is not your typical impersonal National agency; we are a family-owned agency. As such, it is crucial that each candidate seeking employment through our agency adheres to our rigorous screening standards with no exceptions. This requirement is vital in ensuring that we deliver the utmost satisfaction to our valued families.

What payment methods are accepted?

You can easily get registered today for your convenience. The hiring fee can be paid using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.

Does ABC Nanny Source offer live in and live out Nannies?

ABC Nanny Source is an expert in providing both live in and live out childcare services. Our agency ensures that all live out nannies are matched within a 30 minute proximity to their homes. This means that every candidate your family considers will be exceptionally local!

We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?

At ABC Nannies, it's a resounding no when it comes to seeking short term or casual assignments. Our dedicated team of Nannies are committed to pursuing career opportunities. To ensure their professional growth, our permanent part-time Nannies insist on a minimum of 25 hours per week.

What is the cost involved in hiring a ME nanny through ABC Nanny Source?

Full Time Live Out and Live In Nannies are available to assist with weekly needs ranging from 40 to 55+ hours per week. They are provided at a fee of 14% of the Nanny's anticipated gross salary with a minimum of $3400. Additionally, we offer a ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE to ensure your satisfaction.
Part Time Live Out Nannies are available for families requiring assistance for 25 to 39 hours per week. These nannies can be hired at a cost equivalent to 16% of their anticipated gross salary, with a minimum fee of $2800. Additionally, families can take advantage of the ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE provided by ABC Nanny Source.

How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?

When "harmonizing" nannies with families, there are multiple aspects that are considered. One key factor is the distance for live-out candidates. We ensure that every live-out nanny is placed within a 30-minute radius of their home, guaranteeing that the candidates presented to your family will be local and knowledgeable about the area. Another important aspect is the comfort level of each prospective nanny with your family's description and unique needs. We only recommend candidates who are experienced and at ease with your children's age group. For example, if you have a newborn, we will only present you with nannies who have specific experience and a genuine passion for caring for infants. Additionally, your counselor will strive to select nannies who are within the salary range specified in your family application. During the initial consultation, your counselor will inquire about the type of candidate you are seeking, such as someone who is bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc. We make it a priority to take this criteria into consideration when evaluating potential matches for your family. Furthermore, we also consider any pets your family may have, taking into account any allergies that the nanny has disclosed to us. The matching process involves a significant amount of effort, but it is all geared towards producing the desired results.

How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?

Our extensive 10 Step Screening Process ensures that only trustworthy and qualified nannies are introduced to your family. Understandably, inviting someone into your home requires careful consideration. Our screening process includes thorough verification of references, obtaining clearances for criminal background checks, administering a negative 5 panel drug test through Quest Diagnostics, obtaining vehicle registration information, professionally verifying identities, and ensuring CPR certifications. We take every imaginable measure to guarantee the safety and trustworthiness of the nannies we recommend for your family.
