“I am a very easy going, flexible person. I love to be active and I am outdoors any chance I get! I am extremely energetic and love to do arts and crafts. My goals in life are to help young children learn though play and life experiences. I would like to become a Nanny because I feel the intimate atmosphere will allow me to help a young child/children grow and learn. If I was asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the Nanny profession over any other it would have to be because helping children learn is my passion. I have been serving in some form of childcare, including as an Essex County Mothers Helper, for over 5 years and can honestly say I adore what I do! I feel the children are what make the world a better place. My goal, as a Nanny, is to become part of a child’s life and help them learn and grow. I am willing to do housekeeping that includes laundry, cooking, and light cleaning. If I had to describe myself in five adjectives I would say that I am energetic, caring, nurturing, fun, and active. Activities that I would like to incorporate in the daily plan for the family I care for would include cooking, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and teaching basic language and math skills. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking a Nanny like me I would hope they would be a loving, down-to-earth family, also, pets are always welcome with me!”

“She has been a great asset as an Essex County Mothers Helper and it saddens me to see her leave. She is very responsible, always on time and never calls out. My first impression was a lasting one. Alison presents herself in a mature and professional manner. The lessons she taught were well developed and well thought out. She demonstrates an excellent command of the subject matter and delivered each lesson with assurance and flexibility. She executed each lesson with a great attitude towards teaching. She had an excellent rapport with her students and their parents. The students respect her authority and complied with her rules. Over the years as a director and owner of a childcare center I have observed many teachers. Alison stands out. That is why I highly recommend her for a position!”

“Alison is an enthusiastic, caring and responsible teacher. She was always prompt, prepared and flexible. She always remained calm and never got frazzled. Her lessons reflected thought, time, and effort. She got to know each child on an individual level. She was able to recognize each student’s strengths and needs. She didn’t hesitate to try different teaching techniques to reach the needs of her students. Alison treated each student with respect and fairness. Alison was involved in helping with an after school craft club for grades one through five. This gave her experience with older children. I would highly recommend Alison for a childcare position as an Essex County Mothers Helper or a nanny. It truly has been a pleasure working with Alison.”

“Alison was my daughter’s pre-K teacher. I have known Alison in this capacity for one year in addition to her Essex County Mothers Helper position. During this time, I have been often amazed by Alison’s enthusiasm and care. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide my daughter with a structure and loving environment while, at the same time, promoting early education through creative and innovative activities, which have laid the foundation for the work to come. During this year, my daughter has learned so much and has really embraced her new skills. In addition to being very caring, Alison has also successfully managed a classroom of twenty pre school-aged children. She managed to create a structured and organized environment where the children felt safe, comfortable and free to explore their new skills. Because of her enthusiasm for working with children and her ingenuity, I would certainly recommend Alison for a childcare position!”

“Alison was my daughter’s teacher in a kindergarten classroom and also our Essex County Mothers Helper. She was extremely caring to the children and helpful in all aspects of their learning. My daughter is very fond of Alison and always looks forward to seeing her on the playground. Alison was very responsible with the children and also seemed very diligent about classroom procedures and rules. She took parent teacher conferences seriously and was thoughtful in her assessment of my daughter’s abilities. Alison would do well in any childcare environment!”
