Most of the children attending our camp are diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism. To that end, we were very fortunate to have Shelley as a teacher assistant at our camp! She assisted the classroom teacher with planning and implementation of daily lessons. The children in the class enjoyed her creativity, sense of purpose and the patience that she brought with her each day. At times, the children in our camp can get frustrated easily or have trouble interacting. Shelley has the ability to firmly handle any situation but do so with warmth and caring.
