Frequently Asked Questions

From the moment of registration to the hiring stage, how long does this process typically take?

Finding the right candidate for your family may vary depending on your household requirements. Our research shows that most families typically review and consider three to five candidates before hiring a Nanny. Our commitment is to consistently support you in identifying the perfect fit for your family, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.

Hours of Operation?

Our placement counselors at ABC Nanny Source are readily available from Monday through Friday, ensuring your convenience between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Are there any nannies available?

We always have a wide range of Nannies available for placement throughout the year. Nevertheless, our high caliber Nannies, which distinguish us from other agencies, are in high demand, resulting in limited availability at times. We prioritize maintaining our rigorous procedures over simply offering a large pool of Nannies to choose from. We are highly selective in our vetting process and only accept Nannies who meet our stringent criteria into our database.

What is the process for managing taxes?

GTM Payroll Services, the company we strongly endorse, is the perfect recommendation for families hiring an ABC Nanny. It is highly suggested that every family avails themselves of the valuable services offered by GTM Payroll Services. This agency is known for its expertise in household employee payroll and maintains exceptional relationships with both our families and nannies.

Are there any additional perks or advantages that I should consider offering the nanny?

While ABC Nanny Source acknowledges that it does not establish the benefits, it is important for families to consider offering a competitive benefit package in order to attract and retain highly sought-after Nannies. This package should ideally include two weeks of vacation time off for full-time Nannies, with one week coordinated with the family's vacation and another week chosen by the Nanny. Additionally, families should provide paid major holidays and paid sick time as part of the benefits package.

Are we obligated to employ the nanny we hire for a minimum of one year?

No. The responsibility lies solely with the Nanny and ABC Nanny Source. Your family is not obligated to continue paying the nanny or provide employment if her services are no longer needed. ABC Nannies are required to sign a one-year commitment pledge when accepted by the agency. In the unlikely event that the nanny you hired doesn't work out, the agency offers a one-year guarantee for your family. However, if you no longer require nanny services for any reason such as relocation, a parent losing their job, or the decision for the mother to stay at home, you are under no obligation to continue paying the nanny's salary. This is a significant advantage compared to AuPair Agencies and those that provide nannies from outside the local area.

Is there any kind of training involved in becoming a Nanny in MN?

Before joining our database, all applicants must possess a valid CPR Certification as required by ABC Nanny Source.

How does the one-year guarantee work?

Rest assured, if your nanny simply does not work out for any reason within the one year time period, which is an unlikely event, our team will gladly commence a new nanny search for your family. We will provide dedicated assistance in selecting a suitable replacement nanny. It brings us great pride to announce that this occurrence is infrequent, emphasizing the high satisfaction rate of our nanny placements.

Do you have bi-lingual nannies?

As a placement counselor, I want to inform you about two important requirements for our nannies. Fluency in English is a prerequisite for all candidates. Furthermore, many of our professional nannies possess fluency in additional languages like Spanish, French, and even Sign Language. If having a nanny who speaks multiple languages is important to you, please make sure to inform the placement counselor assigned to your family. This will enable them to consider this preference when selecting suitable candidates for your position.

Is ABC Nanny Source a National Company or a local MN Nanny Agency?

As a family-owned agency, ABC Nanny Source emphasizes a personal approach, distinguishing us from impersonal national agencies. That's why we prioritize the adherence of every candidate seeking employment through our agency to our stringent screening standards, leaving no room for exceptions. This insistence is crucial as we aim to ensure the optimal experience for the families we serve.

What payment methods are accepted?

To make things easier for you, you have the option to pay the hiring fee using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. Today is the perfect day to get registered! Simply get registered now!

Does ABC Nanny Source offer live in and live out Nannies?

ABC Nanny Source is an expert in providing both live in and live out childcare services. Our priority is to ensure that all of our live out nannies are conveniently located within a 30-minute radius from their respective homes. This means that every candidate your family evaluates will be from your very own neighborhood!

We only need an occassional weekend babysitter – Can you help with that?

No, all ABC Nannies are in pursuit of career opportunities rather than temporary or informal assignments. Our part-time Nannies are looking for long-term positions with a minimum commitment of 25 hours per week.

What is the cost involved in hiring a MN nanny through ABC Nanny Source?

Full-time live-out and live-in nannies, who support weekly requirements ranging from 40 to 55+ hours per week, can be obtained at a charge of 14% of the nanny's estimated gross salary, with a minimum payment of $3400. Additionally, we offer a one-year guarantee. Full Time Live Out and Live In Nannies ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE
Part Time Live Out Nannies, who work for 25 to 39 hours per week, can be hired from our agency. The fee for their services is 16% of their anticipated gross salary, with a minimum charge of $2800. Additionally, we offer a ONE-YEAR GUARANTEE for our clients.

How do you specifically choose the nannies for our particular family?

When "harmonizing" nannies with families, several aspects are considered. One important factor is the distance for live-out candidates. We make sure to place each live-out nanny within a 30-minute radius of their home. This ensures that the candidates presented to your family will be local and familiar with the area. Additionally, it is crucial that every prospective nanny feels completely comfortable with your family's description and the unique needs and requests you have. Rest assured, we will only recommend candidates who have experience and are comfortable with caring for children of your specific age group. For example, if you have a newborn, we will only present you with candidates who have experience with and enjoy working with babies. To further ensure a good match, your counselor will select nannies in the same salary range as requested in your family application. During the initial consultation, your counselor will ask you about the "type" of candidate you are seeking, taking into account qualities such as being bubbly, professional, religious, nurturing, etc. We also consider any pets your family may have and take into account any allergies the nanny may have informed us about. The matching process involves a lot of work, but it is all done with a purpose to provide you with the desired result.

How do I know that every candidate that I'm considering is safe?

When it comes to inviting someone into your home, it's only natural to be cautious. Our meticulous 10 Step Screening Process guarantees that we leave no stone unturned. This comprehensive procedure involves verifying all references, obtaining clearances for criminal background checks, conducting negative 5 panel drug tests through Quest Diagnostics, obtaining vehicle registration details, professionally verifying identities, and ensuring CPR certifications are up to date. We take every imaginable measure to ensure that only trustworthy and qualified nannies are introduced to your family.
