Typically once you become registered, you can expect to begin interviewing candidates within one to two days. The majority of our families will interview between five to ten candidates before choosing which Nanny to hire. Of course, each family’s situation is different. We will continually provide you with the assistance you need in order to find the candidate ideal for your situation.

Can your agency assist families with taxes?

While we cannot dictate how families choose to handle taxes, ABC recommends GTM Payroll Services, a company that specializes in household employee payroll. We highly recommend this agency to families that hire one of our ABC Nannies as they have established an excellent reputation in the industry.
Am I obligated to offer the Nanny a benefit package?
ABC Nanny Source does not dictate the benefits our families offer. However, in order for families to be competitive, we recommend that each family offer a benefit package that includes paid vacation, paid sick time, and paid major holidays that fall on a typical work day.
Are we required to employ the Nanny for any specific period of time?
Not at all! Your family is not obligated to continue the employment of your caregiver for any specified duration of time.
Do the Washington, DC Nannies go through any type of training?
Each Nanny is required to be certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR in order to be accepted for representation at ABC Nanny Source.
When we are ready to begin interviewing potential candidates, where will those interviews take place?
ABC Nanny Source has found that most families prefer to conduct the interviews right in their home. This allows you to assess her demeanor in the natural environment she will work in every day. She will get to see where you live, meet your adorable children, and get a feel for the family dynamic. It is very important that your family feel completely comfortable with the Nanny you hire, and what better way than to invite her into your home? Your Placement Counselor will arrange all of the interviews for you, provide the candidates with directions to your home, confirm the times with both you and the Nanny, so all you need to do is be there to open the door when the Nanny arrives!
What does the one year guarantee mean?
If your Nanny were to not be as compatible with your family as you had originally hoped within the first year, or if something unexpected and unforeseen occurs that prevents the ability of your Nanny to stay on board for the period of time intended, ABC Nanny Source will replace her for you. We are very happy to declare that we rarely need to do this for our families!
Do all of your Nannies speak English?
Absolutely. In order for candidates to be considered, it is a requirement that they are able to fluently speak, read and write in English. In addition to English, many of our Nannies are able to fluently speak other languages as well. Some are even proficient in Sign Language! Your Placement Counselor will do her very best to find a candidate that meets all of your language needs.

There is a $225 Registration Fee to initiate the search and get your family interviewing with Nannies. That fee is fully applied and credited to the Placement Fee once you have selected the Nanny.

How do you identify the proper match to our family?
There are several factors to ensure that your family is matched with your ideal candidate. During your initial consultation, your counselor will ask you several questions regarding the type of candidate you envision. We will make every effort to meet each request when discussing your opportunity with the interested candidates. We also take into consideration any allergies the Nanny may have that may be affected by your household pets. We then offer to you only the Nannies that best match your specifications. We spend a great deal of time making sure that each placement is a perfect one!
How do I know I can trust the Nannies that come to my home for an interview?
ABC's 10 Step Screening Process is very strict primarily to ensure your safety. Each Nanny has passed a nationwide/countywide criminal background check, driving motor vehicle report, a Social Security Verification Trace. Each individual's electronic fingerprints are taken, they've submitted to a 5 panel drug test, have had their photograph taken, references checked and passed the face-to-face interview at our office.
