10 Step Screening Process For New Jersey Nannies

We realize how extremely important it is to find the "right" caregiver for your family. Our placement counselors are here to help you every step of the way! As the leading New Jersey Nanny Placement Agency, it is critical to make sure our families know they can count on us in every way. Each stop of our screening process is taken very seriously. Rest assured your security and privacy is treated as our top priority.

ABC Nanny Source interviews hundreds of candidates each and every month. Our acceptance rate is a mere 2 our of every 10 applicants who apply!  Although our standards are very high and we require alot from each nanny in order to be accepted - ABC Nannies are very happy because they are rewarded with wonderful long lasting positions and families that recognize them for the professionals they are!

First Interview

This interview is conducted over the phone and typically lasts about 20-45 minutes in duration. The ABC Nanny Recruiter assigned to the applicant will ask a variety of identifying questions to determine the likelihood of them being a successful candidate for our families. If the potential candidate passed the phone interview, a face-to-face interview will be scheduled with two placement counselors.

Second Interview

Families are often surprised to find that several other agencies do not even require the candidates in their database come for an in person interview? This is a critical part of the interviewing process for all ABC Nannies. All candidates must come to meet with at least two different placement counselors in our Summit location and complete an extensive face-to-face interview.

Criminal Clearances and Driving Motor Vehicle Report

It is shocking that many agencies only perform the National Background Checks after a family has extended an offer to a nanny. ABC Nanny Source always performs these National Background Clearances before the nanny ever interviews with any families. In addition, ABC Nanny Source also performs a driving record for each and every nanny.  We realize most positions require the nanny be able to dirve.  It is imperative for your family to know this information prior to making a choice so you are making a very informed decision when determining which candidate is best suited for your family.

One Year Commitment Pledge

In order for a candidate to be accepted by ABC Nanny Source – they are required to agree to a term minimum of one year. We understand that stability in every family is incredibly important and therefore anyone who cannot offer this to our families is automatically rejected.

Quest Diagnostic Testing

As an additional precaution each and every applicant must submit to a 5-panel drug testing at a local laboratory and produce a negative result in order to be accepted. It is definitely alarming when potential candidates who appear to be very good on paper (resume and application) but are unwilling to submit to this type of testing.

Authorization to Work in the United States

It is also an important factor to be sure that everyone you are considering to employ as your nanny is legally allowed to work in the U.S. Each candidate must agree to allow ABC Nanny Source to perform a social security verification trace.

Photographed for Profile

During the second interview that is done face to face, each candidate is photographed for their profile.

Electronic Fingerprinting

ABC Nanny Source firmly believes it is impossible to be too extensive when comes to their caregivers. Each and every applicant must submit to full fingerprinting to get to the next phase of the interview process.

Verification of References

The profiles you will receive of the candidates specifically chosen for your family will all have each of the candidates’ references that have been verified. There is full time personnel at ABC Nanny Source that verifies references all day long! The entire details of the verification are provided in the individual candidate profile and will contain the information regarding the job description, ages of the children they cared for and contact information in case you would like to speak with the references as well!

ABC Code of Conduct

During the second Interview each candidate is presented with ABC’s Code of Conduct. This outlines the standard acceptable behavior, appropriate attire and standards we insist our ABC Nannies adhere to. Each nanny must fully understand and acknowledge this in order to be accepted.
