Her duties included, but were not limited to assisting lead teachers, tending to the general needs of infants and children, creating outdoor and indoor activities, and demonstrating and assisting with arts and crafts. I worked alongside Meredith mainly in the infant room. Although her position was teacher’s assistant, she often took the initiative to organize activities for all of the children while keeping up with the ongoing needs that infants have such as feeding and changing diapers. Through the way Meredith engaged with each child and the amount of time she invested in their individual needs, it was and still is apparent to me that she genuinely cares for each child’s happiness and well-being. Meredith would always go above and beyond her duties as a caregiver. She could always be seen singing to the children and dancing around the room. She would even participate in special events such as pajama day and Halloween by dressing up and bringing in special treats for the children.
