"What impressed me the most about working with ABC Nanny Source was the level of detail and organization in which such confidential information was presented. I received an extensive profile of each nanny candidate prior to her coming to my home for an interview. Once each nanny arrived at my door, I was fully relaxed because I felt I already knew the person in front of me! That’s how detailed these profiles were. The process was made very easy for our family and within a matter of days, I hired the perfect nanny for our children!"

Madeline is one of our amazing Seattle Nannies and is an excellent role-model to young children.

“I have chosen to be a nanny because I am nurturing and compassionate, I have a great love of children of all ages, especially infants and toddlers, and I sincerely enjoy caring for, guiding and playing with them, and also supporting their families any way they may need me to. Working with children and a family in their home allows me to truly concentrate on fostering and facilitating the children’s growth and development, and forming and developing a close trusting relationship with the children and their family. I believe that children learn well through play and exploration and I creatively coordinate and participate in meaningful experiences and activities with them that are positive, stimulating, fun, active, nurturing and safe. These include various indoor and outdoor play activities, including gross motor, fine motor, music, and arts and crafts activities, as well as recreational and educational outings. I help children be successful by motivating and encouraging them with positive reinforcement and by celebrating the steps they make. I have been serving in some form of childcare experience for over 30 years and can honestly say I am EXCELLENT at what I do! I feel that children are Children are incredibly fascinating, adorable and fun to be with! Beginning at birth, they have such a wonder of learning and exploring their environment, and I love watching and being part of their learning and discovery process. As written above, my overall goal as a Nanny is to care for and guide children, and also to support their families. If asked to describe the perfect family seeking Seattle Nannies like me I would hope they would be I would love a family who are easygoing, kind and communicative.”

“Madeline has all the qualities and credentials one could possibly want in Seattle Nannies. Everything we say about Maddi is based not only upon our personal experience with Madeline taking care of our children and grandchildren, but is based upon us knowing Madeline as someone who has become like a family member. First and foremost is her sincere love that she gives to all the children who she takes care of and teaches. Her depth of experience which also includes disabled children, her teaching certifications, along with her two Master's degrees (one in Education and the other in Literacy), and her undergraduate degree in Education are the perfect complement to round out her love. Overall, Madeline is a kind, giving person who is always there to help others. She is very much a person that makes a life by what she gives and a living by what she gets.”

“Madeline's impressive teaching skills were immediately evident during the interview process. Madeline was asked to conduct a lesson for a self-contained preschool class. Madeline presented an interesting activity that quickly engaged the children. During that lesson, and subsequent lessons, it was apparent that Madeline spent a great deal of time, effort and thought preparing activities that would allow children to practice their learning, language and motor skills. Her multi-model approach to curriculum activities greatly impacted her young students and assisted them to make developmental gains. Madeline communicated and interacted well with her teacher assistants and other related service providers. She took the time to learn about her students so that she could best advocate for their needs. Madeline was responsible for lesson plans, evaluations, documentation and report writing for all her students. Additionally, she provided itinerant services for children in their homes or at other preschools, making her the best candidate among Seattle Nannies. She was able to professionally manage all of these responsibilities. Madeline is a committed teacher who uses her creative talents to develop developmentally appropriate curriculum for the myriad of children in her care.”

“Madeline (Maddi) has been caring for my 2 ½ year old daughter for the past 2 years first as a full-time nanny, then as a part time nanny. Maddi is a bright, reliable, educated, cultured and creative example of Seattle Nannies. She is well versed in child development and education, both due to her university studies and a natural affinity toward children. Her love of children and her strong desire to help them thrive was evident from the moment that we met her (in fact, right away we knew that she would be a great fit). Maddi relates to my daughter in such a delightful way, turning practically everything into a fun game or a learning experience. Maddi is also extremely youthful and energetic. She loves to keep our daughter stimulated and active – mentally and physically – with trips to the park, long walks, play dates and time in our play room (not to mention camel rides at the zoo!). She is also very willing to take my daughter to classes and to run errands for my husband and me and do light housework. She even takes my daughter to my mother’s home and to my grandmother’s home for visits on a regular basis. Maddi is also extremely friendly, so my daughter has made new friends all over town! Regardless of the established hours (full time or part time) Maddi has always been willing to stay later or arrive earlier. She is reliable, accountable, honest and thorough. Throughout each day she keeps me abreast of my daughter’s experiences and accomplishments via phone or text message. She has my daughter call me every day, sends pictures and keeps a detailed daily log of my daughter’s day so I know what she ate, when she napped, the nature and duration of her activities, etc. I have never once worried about my daughter’s safety or happiness while in Maddi’s care. I am completely confident that my daughter (and my cats and dogs) will receive the highest level of care every day that she is with Maddi. We feel fortunate to have Maddi in our home. We are convinced that our daughter owes much of her positive development to her presence. Maddi’s approach to caring for my daughter complements my parenting well as she respects my personal philosophies while being confident enough to independently make day-to-day decisions.”

“During her time with us, Madeline formed a close relationship with us, and we will always consider her to be an extension of our family. Madeline was responsible for caring for my two sons, one who has Pervasive Developmental Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and the other who is very gifted. Her special education teaching experience made her highly qualified for the position. When Madeline began working with us, it was clear that she had a love of children and was very patient and kind and my sons quickly grew fond of her and soon loved her as well. She helped them with homework, communication and self-control, all areas that they struggled in. She also played beautifully with the boys, and guided them to play together and with other children. She assisted them with bathing and dressing, prepared light meals for them, and occasionally helped with their laundry. In addition, Madeline followed and respected our family routines and guidelines, and was always extremely reliable and responsible. Madeline took time to communicate with my husband and me, as needed. She respected us as the parents, yet she worked as a partner with us, and shared ideas and suggestions with us when we asked her to. Madeline was also flexible with her time, and stayed later than her scheduled hours, if necessary, and traveled with us on many vacations. We certainly recommend her highly among Seattle Nannies.

“Madeline worked in a program that supports the growth and development of middle school aged children with special needs, both cognitive and physical. Madeline has extensive work and success with empowering children with special needs, her tireless work ethic, resourcefulness and willingness to continue in honing and developing her craft by taking full advantage of professional learning opportunities is what set her apart from other applicants. In her time here, she raised the level of academic and emotional expectations of our children. Her efforts exhibited tremendous results in that she supported student literacy improvements; taking preliterate students to empowering them with strategies to access and make meaning of various genres of texts. This included excursions to the local supermarkets and teaching number sense and pricing, to field trips to cultural institutions and development of social skills through park excursions. Madeline participated in literacy learning experiences provided by our literacy coaches. She modified curriculum and approaches to meet and challenge the needs of her learners. The greatest strengths that Madeline exhibits include her ability to foster powerful relationships with her children and her perspective of herself as a perpetual questioner of her own practice. Her relationships with her children acknowledge them as whole persons, but she does not settle for less than what she believes that they can accomplish. I am reminded of the conversations that she and I had regarding her student’s access to mainstream middle school experiences. All of our children benefited from these experiences. As I have stated earlier, Madeline is an ardent advocate of professional learning opportunities that reach beyond the realm of "special education." She took advantage of any offerings that would support her growth as a teacher or among Seattle Nannies and thus benefit her children.”

“Madeline has been a part-time employee of our company which provides respite care to families with developmentally disabled children. Madeline is one of the most conscientious Seattle Nannies we have had the pleasure of employing. When Madeline was first hired, she was matched with several families for whom she provided respite care. Two of the children that Madeline worked with were extremely challenging, and Madeline was able to skillfully and sensitively meet their needs. One little girl was diagnosed with autism and had significant behavioral issues including: aggression, hair-pulling, biting, running away and eating inedible objects. Madeline was the only respite worker who had the perspective, the expertise, and the willingness to work with this child, establishing an effective behavioral program and providing critical relief to the beleaguered morn. Madeline does not shy away from a challenge. She is extremely hard working and is very committed to making children's and families' lives better, a goal that she takes very seriously. For the past twelve years, Madeline has worked with one young woman, taking her out on small field trips and excursions into the community, acting as both a 'Big Sister' and a devoted friend and caretaker. Madeline is so conscientious that after the young woman moved from her home to a community residence Madeline chose to continue to take this young woman out, twice a month, providing both critical continuity and a message of caring for this woman during a difficult transition. Madeline is extremely trustworthy and dependable, creative and compassionate, enthusiastic and earnest. She is a woman of great character. She has an uncanny ability to respond to and bring out the best in the many children and young adults she's worked with over the years. She is respectful and empathetic. She has an impressive treasure trove of teaching techniques.”
